Finishing a Big Project

Some rainy days allowed me to sit at my sewing machine without having a guilty conscience and to finish all the 11 big jeans bags. They were started 2 years ago, 14 of the 22 jeans collages were shown on Prague Patchwork Meeting 2019. The linings (with pockets, zippers and key chains) were finished on Friday, on Saturday I assembled them all and today my husband completed them, attaching leather handles. He was busy the whole morning plus a big part of the afternoon…
The bags No.32-42 are thus completed

I love all of them, but the most I love all the details.

The biggest problem I´m facing now is choosing one for myself…

One big project is finished, a new big one can be started!

Printing on Fabric

After dyeing the background fabrics, I decided  to make also some prints on the beige pieces, just in case I would need some details in the feature quilts.
The old fabric paints I found at home were a) very old and mostly not usable b) absolutely wrong colors. Visiting our local stationery, I was double surprised. Firstly, the shop assistant was very personable and (much more important!) erudite. Secondly, the choice war surprisingly big. I chose for white and black plus gold beige.
The Saturday afternoon was sunny und friendly, the right weather for some creative activities outside. Beside two pencils I own since a long time I collected some items like the kitchen sponge, paper roll, cardboard, in the workplace of my husband I stole some brushes and wooden skewers.

I started with white colour, first stamping with paper roll.

Then stamping with the kitchen sponge...

...and with the edge of the cardboard

Working with stencels is always very nice. This time, better results were archieved with the other two paints.

I experimented a bit with wooden skewers,  with paint brush and with the sponge again.

It looks like mountains from Lord of the Rings, doesn´t it?

Happy stitching (and printing)!
