Working With Hemp Canvas

Two weeks ago I visited my favourite fabric shop, Sartor. I wanted only a meter or two of linen. As usual, I went home with a bag full of meters and meters of diverse linens and also natural hemp canvas. A beautiful, heavy weight fabric, great for making bags and musettes.

Unfortunately, I could buy only the rest of the fabric bolt (about 2, 4 m), it was right enough for 2 musettes and tree big shopping bags.

The material forms a great combination with prints by Cori Dantini.

The two musettes are finished by now.

There is the end of August and in the Czech Republic the school begins next week (hopefully).

The girls of my dear colleague Jana are going to school again, so it´s the right time for a new bag pack:)

The totes are not finished yet, but the applique is ready (not on the foto yet). The finishing is my mission for the next week.

Happy stitching!

Working on needle booklets

It´s hot, very hot outside, inside the house is it not much better. The most days, or rather the most evenings, I don´t feel like sewing on machine. But hand sewing is no trouble so I continue quilting and embroidering small blocks for the feature needle booklets. I become a bit addict actually…

More will follow, I´m sure:)

Happy quilting

Work in progress

Almost every evening I enjoy the work on future needle booklets. I don´t have much time, nevertheless I do try to add some stitches every evening. I also added some beads  to the two first pieces.

In the meantime, some more collages were prepared and are ready for stitching.

The biggest progress was made today. After many weeks, our ladies club finally came together to enjoy a stitching Saturday. Usually we sew on machines but with the very hot weather we had today, everyone preferred  working by hand. So did I, which means that  I can proudly present the next two finished pieces:

This one is not ready yet, it needs some more stitches:

Happy stitching!
