The front panel of the to be bag „Australia“ is finished! In my latest update of this project, I posted pictures of two finished animals, now all of them are appliquéd and embellished. Not all of them are a concrete animal species though…
This one seems to be a kind of goat, I´m especially proud of the beard.
This animal is more a cow than an antelope, which was my original idea... I like the woven picot tail and ears!
The bird symbolises all the flying feathered jewels of Australia. I enjoyed embroidering the tail feathers very much. Do you see the woven picot beak? Woven picots became definitely one of my favourite embroidery elements.
My favourite animal, a snake! Here I was again very strong inspired by Sue Spargo, using rick rack in combination with beads.
The only animal waiting for embellishing is the
dog dingo on the other bag panel. The background and the woollen shape of the
dog are sewn to the jeans cloth already, I haven´t decided yet, what stitch and thread
I´m going to use. Here you can see very clear the former back part of my jeans skirt. It´s, eeah, a bit wavy...
Happy stitching to everyone!
Michaela
